Grace Baptist Mission
As I settle into a routine for the current school term, I consider the privilege of having this particular set of responsibilities. What an undeserved joy to serve Christ outside of my home culture, to be a pastor, to teach theology, and to study the word of God for a living!
Here are a few areas of responsibility on my plate right now, along with attendant prayer requests.
*Please pray for the pastors at Emmanuel Baptist. This is the time of year when we normally develop the budget proposal for the church. So we’re particularly busy preparing to lead the congregation in owning biblical priorities for our resources. Pray for wisdom in weighing our limits and responsibilities and for harmony within the congregation. The Lord has been so kind to grant a unified and teachable congregation, who are “zealous for good works.”
*Please pray for my current teaching load. I’m co-teaching a class on the book of Hebrews and on the History of the Reformation. Pray that the students grow in their joy in the gospel of Christ and their skill in defending and proclaiming it.
*Please pray for upcoming travel for my doctoral studies. Next quarter, I will be due for my second of five meetings with the doctoral faculty for my PhD. Pray that I can complete the work on time, that the meeting with the faculty is productive, and that I’m able to enjoy safe, healthy, and smooth travel.
